THE BEAUTIFUL EASTERN TOWNSHIPS (ESTRIE)

I’m a huge lover of the Eastern Townships, known as Estrie in French. As a Wedding photographer, it is always a joy to be near the mountains, capturing the most beautiful weddings in Estrie. This region has something magical about it. Luckily, the Eastern Townships are home to many venues with an extraordinary setting for a wedding, places that nature lovers will especially appreciate.
Here is the list of my favorite wedding venues in the Eastern Townships, just 1.5 hours from Montreal! Read all the way to the end to discover many more wedding venues in Estrie.
1. Château Ste-Agnès
Château Ste-Agnès in Sutton is my top pick for a wedding in the beautiful Eastern Townships. Nestled in a picturesque setting, this vineyard offers a romantic, historic atmosphere that will add a touch of magic to your wedding day.
The vineyard was developed to blend in with its surroundings. The owners are incredibly kind and welcoming. The site is breathtaking, with its romantic gardens, heart-shaped ponds, landscaped vines, a chateau and a small Romanesque chapel, all surrounded by mountains that will leave your guests with unforgettable memories. You will feel transported to Europe, only an hour and a half from Montreal.
The chateau can host up to 120 guests. There is no caterer on site, so you are free to choose your own.
Be sure to plan a visit as well. You will be able to see the grounds, get familiar with the spaces available for the ceremony and the reception, and go over all the logistics with their dedicated team. A true favorite!

2. Manoir Hovey
Getting married at Manoir Hovey is an extraordinary experience! Located on the shores of Lake Massawippi in the Eastern Townships of Quebec, Manoir Hovey offers an enchanting, romantic setting for a countryside wedding. The gorgeous scenery, the well-kept gardens, the waterfront and the architectural charm of the manor create a truly unique atmosphere. 3. Maison Bolton
Maison Bolton is the ideal place for couples dreaming of an intimate, elegant wedding deeply connected to nature.
Set in the heart of 244 acres of fields, forests and peaceful landscapes, this private estate offers an experience very different from traditional reception halls. Here, you are not simply renting a venue for a day: you take over a house and an entire estate for a weekend, surrounded by your loved ones.
Formerly a family home, Maison Bolton has kept all the authenticity and warmth of a lived-in place. Every building, every space and every detail was designed with simplicity and refinement, to create a welcoming and soothing atmosphere.
The estate can host up to 250 guests for larger weddings. On-site accommodation includes 6 bedrooms, sleeping 10 to 12 people. Its greatest asset is its exceptional natural setting: it is the perfect place for couples who value intimacy, connection and the beauty of nature.

4. Vitalité Sureau (Vitality Elderberry)
Since 2015, Vitality Elderberry has welcomed couples to celebrate unforgettable weddings in a natural, warm setting. Located in the countryside in the heart of Estrie, this reception venue blends authenticity, friendliness and rustic elegance, for a perfect backdrop in every season.

5. Domaine Tomali-Maniatyn
Domaine Tomali-Maniatyn is a B&B-style inn that has just reopened its doors, and the site is now available for weddings. This exceptional inn sits on the slopes of Mount Sutton with a panoramic view of the Eastern Townships: a perfect place to hold a wedding.

Getting married at Manoir Maplewood is an experience full of charm and elegance, in a rustic, countryside setting. With its vast gardens, shaded alleys and refined architecture, Manoir Maplewood gives off a romantic, timeless feel, ideal for a wedding.

8. Domaine Vignoble du Ruisseau
Vignoble du Ruisseau blends elegance, nature and local gastronomy: a perfect setting for a ceremony and reception full of warmth and refinement. Set in the bucolic landscape of the Eastern Townships, in Dunham, Estrie, it is an exceptional wedding venue, between vines, stream and countryside charm. The property combines a vineyard, distillery, cidery, organic sugar shack and farm-to-table restaurant, for a complete experience.
9. Domaine du Lac Brompton
Domaine Lac Brompton is perfect for small, intimate weddings. It can host about thirty guests and lets you house everyone in the same place, which brings you closer to your guests.
